Melanie has more than a decade of experience in news and corporate communications. She’s worked for two commercial television networks as a presenter and journalist and has worked in Sydney as a Public Relations Manager which means she has experience on both sides of the fence.

As a journalist for the Nine and Ten networks she’s covered a broad range of stories: Natural disasters including the Black Saturday bushfires, crime stories, major events like the Spring Racing Carnival and the Grand Prix, and has also interviewed royalty and celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker, Oprah and Nicole Kidman.

While in PR her client base included QBE, Harvey Norman, Australia Made and Datacom.

In June, 2014, while on maternity leave, Mel left channel Ten to establish her own business Slade Media House and to work as a freelancer. If you tune into channel Nine on weekends she’s often reporting on Melbourne’s top stories for the Today show.

As a “news junkie” and reputable broadcast journalist she’s a passionate storyteller who always strives to be fair, accurate and ethical.

Mel is very much looking forward to the next chapter in her career telling corporate stories in an engaging, informative and entertaining fashion through a range of mediums especially video.
