Rockhampton Regional Council faced the challenge of making their regional economic development plan the subject of conversation.  The Council’s aim was to grow awareness and increase visibility beyond the local community in order to put Rockhampton on the map for domestic and international investors.  A secondary objective was to attract young families – highlighting the connectivity made available to residents through Rockhampton’s adoption of technology through their ‘Smart City’, CBD and Riverside revitalisation initiatives.


Newsmodo collaborated with both Council stakeholders and the community to develop a strategy to grow external and local audiences.

A series of engaging articles, feature videos and an e-brochure intended to collect leads through form fill, were commissioned to support the opportunities available in Rockhampton thanks to the economic development plan.  Initially domestic focused, the aim is to extend the audience into Asia using a Mandarin version of the booklet for the Chinese market.
